BITS is a group of recent rescue volunteers and supporters
that have become frustrated with the broken rescue
system
They decided more could be done to help the horses in
need and help horses before the situation became so
desperate.
After seeing rescued horses with behavioral or health
problems leave rescues only to be returned or end up in
another bad situation.
They knew they wanted to start a different type of rescue,
one that would seek to give them the training they need to
ensure their safety in the future, reducing the odds that
they will ever wind up in rescue again.
While developing their ideas they realized that there were
opportunities to help more than just horses but horse
owners alike and this project was no longer just about
making a better rescue, but reviving the horse community.
BITS is joined by professional horse people from all
disciplines and fields, many of whom want help horses but
also want to see the horses helped before they end up in
rescue.
People who want to see more people enjoying the same
benefits of horses that they have enjoyed.
The excitement about a different approach to horse rescue
by being proactive and seeking out real solutions instead of
reactive has grown. New ideas and programs are still being
developed and we know these will be a longer lasting
solution to problems facing horses today.
We hope to see other horse owners, horse enthusiasts and
horse related businesses join us in the effort to help horses
